2. Services Provided
JPI Report provides the following services:
- Online Vehicle Inspection Booking System: Web-based platform for scheduling vehicle inspections
- Vehicle Inspection Services: Comprehensive 150+ point vehicle inspections (mobile and workshop)
- AI-Powered Analysis: Advanced AI analysis and report generation
- Digital Reports: PDF and HTML format inspection reports with detailed findings
- Vehicle History Checks: Including JPI Sentinel™ checks and PPSR (Personal Property Securities Register) searches
- Photo and Data Management: High-definition photographs and vehicle data storage
- Document Upload: Secure platform for users to upload vehicle-related images and documents
- Multi-Platform Access: JPI mobile app and web portal access
2.1 User Categories
Our services are provided to:
- (A) Individual Consumers: Private buyers seeking pre-purchase vehicle inspections
- (B) Business Clients: Car dealerships, dealers, and commercial partners (B2B services)
Specific terms may apply depending on your user category and service agreement.
3. Service Agreement
When you book an inspection with JPI Report, you are entering into a service agreement for professional vehicle inspection and reporting services.
4. Booking and Payment
4.1 Booking Confirmation
Your booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed. You will receive a confirmation email with your booking details and reference number.
4.2 Payment Terms
Payment is required at the time of booking. We accept credit cards, debit cards, and other payment methods as displayed on our booking page. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST.
Important Payment & Cancellation Policy
Non-Refundable Fee: The inspection fee is non-refundable 24 hours before the confirmed inspection time.
Cancellation Window: Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours in advance of your scheduled inspection time to be eligible for any refund consideration.
Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the scheduled time will result in forfeiture of the full inspection fee.
4.3 Rescheduling
You may reschedule your inspection appointment by contacting us at least 24 hours before your scheduled time. Rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to additional fees.
5. Inspection Scheduling
5.1 Appointment Confirmation
After booking, our team will contact you to confirm the inspection details and coordinate with the vehicle seller if necessary.
5.2 Access to Vehicle
You are responsible for ensuring that:
- The vehicle is available at the scheduled time and location
- The seller or owner is present to provide access
- The vehicle is in a safe condition to be inspected
- All necessary keys are available for the inspection
5.3 Failed Inspections
If we are unable to complete the inspection due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., vehicle unavailable, unsafe conditions, seller refusing access), the inspection fee is non-refundable. We will attempt to reschedule at no additional cost, subject to availability.
6. Service Delivery
6.1 Mobile Inspections
For mobile inspections, we will travel to the specified location within our service area. Additional travel fees may apply for locations outside our standard service zone.
6.2 Workshop Inspections
For workshop inspections, the vehicle must be brought to our Smithfield location at the scheduled time. You are responsible for arranging transport to and from our workshop.
6.3 Inspection Report
Your detailed inspection report will be delivered via email within 24 hours of the inspection completion (typically much sooner). The report includes:
- Detailed findings of all inspected components
- High-definition photographs
- Recommendations and estimated repair costs
- Overall vehicle assessment
7. Scope and Limitations
7.1 Visual Inspection
Our inspection is primarily visual and non-invasive. We do not dismantle vehicle components or perform tests that could damage the vehicle.
7.2 Limitations
The inspection does not include:
- Removal of wheels, trim, or panels
- Emissions testing
- Performance testing beyond a standard test drive
- Future prediction of component failure
- Verification of odometer accuracy (though we note discrepancies)
7.3 Hidden Defects
We cannot guarantee the detection of all defects, particularly those that are concealed, intermittent, or not apparent during a visual inspection.
8. Liability and Warranties
8.1 Professional Service
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with industry standards.
8.2 Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the cost of the inspection fee paid. We are not liable for:
- Your decision to purchase or not purchase a vehicle
- Defects not detected during the inspection
- Mechanical failures occurring after the inspection
- Consequential or indirect losses
8.3 No Warranty
The inspection report does not constitute a warranty or guarantee of the vehicle's condition, performance, or value.
9. Use of Report
9.1 Personal Use
The inspection report is prepared for your personal use in making an informed vehicle purchase decision.
9.2 Third-Party Use
You may share the report with relevant parties (e.g., lenders, insurers) but we are not liable to third parties who rely on the report.
9.3 Copyright
The report and all photographs remain the intellectual property of Authéra Pty Ltd trading as JPI Report. You may not reproduce or distribute the report for commercial purposes.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
10.1 Information Collection
We collect personal information necessary to provide our services, including:
- Your contact details
- Vehicle information
- Seller contact information
- Payment details
10.2 Data Use
We use your information solely for:
- Providing inspection services
- Communication regarding your booking
- Improving our services
- Compliance with legal obligations
10.3 Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We do not sell or share your information with third parties except as necessary to provide our services.
11. Customer Responsibilities
As a customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Ensure the vehicle is available for inspection
- Notify us immediately of any changes to your booking
- Use the inspection report responsibly
- Not hold us liable for your purchase decision
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact us immediately. We will make every effort to resolve your concerns.
12.2 Mediation
Any disputes should first be attempted to be resolved through direct communication. If unresolved, we agree to seek mediation before pursuing legal action.
12.3 Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales (NSW) and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any legal proceedings must be brought in the courts of New South Wales.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website with the revision date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
14. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
